Multigigabit Network Module for Cisco Catalyst 9300 SKU’s switches.

The Multigigabit (mGig) Ethernet ports can be configured to auto-negotiate multiple speeds on switch ports. The ports support 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, and 5 Gbps speeds on Cat5e cables, and up to 10 Gbps over Cat6 and Cat6A cables. Multigigabit ports do not support half duplex mode. Use full duplex mode.

Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series switches (C9300 SKUs) support optional network modules for uplink ports. These field-replaceable network modules enable greater architectural flexibility and infrastructure investment protection by allowing a non-disruptive migration. The default switch configuration does not include the network module. When you purchase the switch, you can choose from the available network modules or purchase them individually at a later point.
